Public Health Workforce Development
Workforce development in public health aims to improve health outcomes by enhancing the training, skills and performance of public health workers.
I have helped individuals and teams to:
-
develop workforce plans
-
identify and harness their wider public health workforce
-
plan programmes to develop their existing staff
We know that resources are constrained. My starting point is always "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are" * This usually means developing the skills of the people already working for/with you.
I bring extensive training and experience in team facilitation at all levels, from front-line staff to board members. I excel in work with both high-performing teams and those navigating conflict.
I have been a head of school, educational supervisor and am still a verifier for the practitioner scheme.
*Although this quote is widely attributed to Theodore Roosevelt, he credits it, in his autobiography to Squire Bill Widener of Widener’s Valley, Virginia.
